STUDIO II COLLECTIVE

PREVIOUSLY KNOWN AS PERFECT PIXEL
AUGUST 2020 - AUGUST 2025

OVERVIEW

We founded our studio, Perfect Pixel, in 2020 during a time when opportunities for placements were scarce due to the impact of COVID-19, limiting our options. It was then that we identified an opportunity through Hallam's Work for Yourself scheme, sparking discussions within the studio. This marked the beginning of our journey, with Ryan, Louis, and myself, evolving into a design collective.

Two years later, now operating under the rebranded name Studio II Collective, Remembered fondly of our university art studio as a space filled with memories of challenges, friendships, and self-discovery. So ‘Studio II’ became more than just a physical space; it evolved into our second home, a place to sustain the creative momentum with our peers.

As of 2023, we expanded our team by welcoming new members and a placement student. Our primary goal was to create a supportive environment where individuals lacking experience could find valuable placements. This initiative aimed to address the challenges posed by the heightened competition resulting from the global pause of the past three years.

THE DRAG SHOW REDESIGN

POSTER REWORK ‘Redesigning Visibility: A Poster Campaign for Drag & Self-Expression’
JULY 2024 (2WKS)

This open brief centred on redesigning marketing materials for an upcoming exhibition at the Beecroft Art Gallery, celebrating the empowering history of drag and self-expression within the LGBT+ community. The goal was to increase awareness, accessibility, and public engagement—particularly among younger audiences—through a refreshed poster design that would both honour the exhibition’s message and appeal to a modern demographic.
