OVERVIEW
Inspired by Dedouze’s use of pastel colours, I created a scene in Blender to expand my knowledge and enhance my illustrative 3D designs. I focused on achieving a consistent outline on 3D objects that remains stable even as the camera moves during rendering and animation. Additionally, I experimented with shaders and nodes to create textures that give my work a 2D appearance, ensuring that the colours adjust automatically when the light and camera moves. The experience allowed me to merge 2D and 3D aesthetics, resulting in more visually engaging and technically sophisticated designs.

THE JOURNEY
The Scene & Outcomes
From 3D to 2D achieved with shaders, nodes and lighting.
The outline on the object is created using an emission node, ensuring it remains visible regardless of the viewing angle, motion, or direction. This technique allows for a consistently defined outline, with adjustable thickness and color, which can be modified through the properties panel.
