PROCESS

CHARLOTTE JUDD as ‘ARTIZBLUE’ (IG) ART OIL PAINT, FEB 2022
The client favoured idea 1, which was based on one of her favorite pieces. I experimented with two different approaches to this project. In the first attempt, I followed a tutorial that involved applying an image to a shape, but I quickly realised that the shape was too complicated. Each distinct layer needed to be separated as an individual image texture before it could be applied to the surface.

Unfortunately, this method didn’t work due to my current struggle and lack of knowledge in handling complex textures. So, I decided to pause this project and work on another learning opportunity, following different tutorials more aligned with the direction I wanted to explore further. This would allow me to come back with more knowledge under my belt.

After reflecting on the first attempt, I adjusted my approach in the second trial by simplifying the design and focusing on texturing techniques that were better suited to my current skill set. This allowed me to achieve a much cleaner and more accurate result. When I returned to the project for the second trial, I had gained more confidence and felt ready to experiment with the methods I'd learned. This process of trial and error not only improved my final results but also deepened my understanding of the 3D software and boosted my confidence in my abilities.
